Through Recycling, Reuse and Resource Conservation, OmniSource will continue to identify and act on opportunities to minimize our impact on the environment.

Product Safety, Quality Assurance & Social Responsibility Program (click to expand)
OmniSource suppliers (domestic and overseas) are required to certify with each order that all of the products they sell to OmniSource are in compliance with all applicable laws, safety standards, specifications, and social compliance requirements of OmniSource, and that they require their subcontractors to do the same.
OmniSource has retained the respected, independent testing labs to test OmniSource products for legal compliance and safety standards. OmniSource requires its suppliers to test their products with those labs as well. Testing is typically performed in the country of origin using pre-production samples.
OmniSource uses a detailed standardized set of product specifications that require compliance with all applicable laws, safety standards, and quality requirements.
OmniSource inspects the facilities of its suppliers for a myriad of issues that are geared toward promoting product safety, quality control, social compliance, and production timing.
OmniSource has three offices in Asia that lead its efforts there with respect to product safety, quality assurance, social responsibility, logistics, and supplier relationships. Offices are located in Hong Kong, Ningbo, and Guangzhou in close proximity to OmniSource suppliers in the region.
All OmniSource facilities are C-TPAT approved. C-TPAT stands for "Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism", which is a program whereby private companies such as OmniSource can adopt practices that help in reducing the potential for terrorism.
OmniSource facilities employ methods and processes that promote energy efficiency and other "green" initiatives.
OmniSource provides its suppliers with a Quality, Code of Conduct, Social Compliance, and Standard Operating Procedures Manual that details OmniSource's minimum requirements in these areas.
